Mereka disangkakan sebagai prostitusi kelas atas yang bermain di harga Rp50juta sampai Rp120juta. Tarif tersebut hanya untuk menemani klien selama 3 jam.

Why did Amnon hate Tamar so much after he had raped her? Amnon loved Tamar, he got everything he wanted, but SUDDENLY he hated her and told her to go.

I read my sister status on Facebook and it made me think what really happened there.

Let us start the journey of understanding.

1-2 Absalom, David’s son, had a sister who was very attractive. Her name was Tamar.

Amnon, also David’s son, was in love with her.

Amnon was obsessed with his sister Tamar to the point of making himself sick over her. She was a virgin, so he couldn’t see how he could get his hands on her.

I already see problems here.

First : David's role as a father. David was a strong military leader. His focus was always on the battlefield. Thanks to the enemies that previous Israel generations spared, the ones that GOD told them to wiped out. David was never at home and when he did, he committed adultery with Bathsheba. This is the father that never given enough attention to his family. Started with this Amnon-Tamar problem and continued to Absalom's rebellion to overthrown David. David's family never has a peaceful life.

So I concluded that the first problem is the father figure in the family. So guys, please attend your family with enough love and time.

Second : .....so he couldn’t see how he could get his hands on her.

I think the main problem is Amnon himself. He really wanted to get his hand on Tamar.

I will give you explanation using modern term here. Amnon already consumed too much pornographic materials or even already experienced free sex.

His status as King's son allowed him to do almost everything. My best guess is that he already shopped around.

3 Amnon had a good friend, Jonadab, the son of David’s brother Shimeah. Jonadab was exceptionally streetwise.
4 He said to Amnon, "Why are you moping around like this, day after day—you, the son of the king! Tell me what’s eating at you." "In a word, Tamar," said Amnon. "My brother Absalom’s sister. I’m in love with her."
5 "Here’s what you do," said Jonadab. "Go to bed and pretend you’re sick. When your father comes to visit you, say, ‘Have my sister Tamar come and prepare some supper for me here where I can watch her and she can feed me.’"

Third : Amnon asked the wrong person for counsel.

Jonadab was exceptionally streetwise or in other word a very crafty man.

You don't go asking counsel to people that are very well known for their craftiness unless you are really up for the evil plan.

The plan made Tamar entered Amnon's room all alone. Amnon asked Tamar to sleep with him.

Tamar said No and proposed an idea that Amnon should asked the King for her hand in marriage and then Tamar will willingly sleep with him.

Amnon who was already high in lust didn't see the good proposal and consumed Tamar as if she was a whore.

And after that the Bible told us that Amnon hated her—an immense hatred. The hatred that he felt for her was greater than the love he’d had for her.

Why??

Now I really think that Amnon already get used to going to prostitution. Prostitutes always allow their customers to do what they wanted. They even let the customers treated them only as an object. An object that can't have feeling or even an opinion.

Tamar who was being raped, of course, will not give Amnon the satisfaction. Amnon has this "great idea" of sex that can't be fulfilled by Tamar. The disappointment was so great that it turned into hatred. Especially when Amnon looked at the crying Tamar, not like the prostitute who will give praises of how good Amnon in bed is.

Amnon already conquered his goal, treated Tamar like any other prostitutes, tell her to go.

21 King David heard the whole story and was enraged,

22 but he didn’t discipline Amnon. David doted on him because he was his firstborn. Absalom quit speaking to Amnon—not a word, whether good or bad—because he hated him for violating his sister Tamar.

See the problem with King David? He didn't discipline Amnon!

Later on Absalom killed Amnon and then rebelled against his own father!

Closing this, I will only say again that we have to attend our family with enough love and time!

I want to discuss about what happened not so recently in my country Indonesia; The release of Ariel-Luna-Cut Tari video.

The news was so blown out of proportions that all three person got social judgment and still waiting on the decision of the law. People said that they are breaking the Anti Pornographic law and should be sentence to the fullest extent of law.

The saddest part is that the police or the prosecutors still don't know which part of the law they are breaking. They are making something up for the sake of keeping them in jail and satisfying some groups of fundamentalists.

In my humble (or stupid?) opinion; They are not breaking any laws. They did it with their own consent. Granted that making the video was kind of stupid but the authority should be pursuing the one or ones that distributing the video. The video was meant to be private collection.

By saying that, I need to correct my own point of view. "They are not breaking any laws."
Of course they do. They, at least, breaking God's law.
Sexual intercourse should be enjoy with spouse only.

Genesis 3:16 To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you."

We need to know that our desire for sex is can only be driven toward our spouse, hence, all pornographic materials are not to be consumed.

We are going to see some examples of sex being abused even from ancient time. The bible recorded several occasions.

This is the most vulgar example of sex already being abused. Lot, Abraham's nephew, lived in the city of Sodom. The city was so evil in its way so that God sent 2 angels to warned Lot and then destroy city.

Genesis 19:1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening. Lot was sitting at the city gate. He saw them and got up to welcome them, bowing before them
2 and said, "Please, my friends, come to my house and stay the night. Wash up. You can rise early and be on your way refreshed." They said, "No, we’ll sleep in the street."
3 But he insisted, wouldn’t take no for an answer; and they relented and went home with him. Lot fixed a hot meal for them and they ate.
4 Before they went to bed men from all over the city of Sodom, young and old, descended on the house from all sides and boxed them in.
5 They yelled to Lot, "Where are the men who are staying with you for the night? Bring them out so we can have our sport with them!"
6 Lot went out, barring the door behind him,
7 and said, "Brothers, please, don’t be vile!
8 Look, I have two daughters, virgins; let me bring them out; you can take your pleasure with them, but don’t touch these men—they’re my guests."
9 They said, "Get lost! You drop in from nowhere and now you’re going to tell us how to run our lives. We’ll treat you worse than them!" And they charged past Lot to break down the door.

Scary, right? Men wanted the 2 angels, in appearance of 2 men, and to have sex with them.
And what was more scarier? Lot offered his 2 virgin daughters in order to save his guests.
and know what? People refused and insisted on having the guests.

The scary movie continued with Lot being able to escape God's wrath to Sodom and Gomorrah with his 2 daughters but lost his wife. They were able to reach Zoar. Lot left Zoar and went into the mountains to live with his two daughters; he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He lived in a cave with his daughters.

One day the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is getting old and there’s not a man left in the country by whom we can get pregnant.
Let’s get our father drunk with wine and lie with him. We’ll get children through our father—it’s our only chance to keep our family alive."
They got their father drunk with wine that very night. The older daughter went and lay with him. He was oblivious, knowing nothing of what she did.
The next morning the older said to the younger, "Last night I slept with my father. Tonight, it’s your turn. We’ll get him drunk again and then you sleep with him. We’ll both get a child through our father and keep our family alive."

So that night they got their father drunk again and the younger went in and slept with him. Again he was oblivious, knowing nothing of what she did.
Both daughters became pregnant by their father, Lot.
The older daughter had a son and named him Moab, the ancestor of the present-day Moabites.
The younger daughter had a son and named him Ben-Ammi, the ancestor of the present-day Ammonites. (Gen 19:30-38).

Talking about everything that went wrong! Daughters that were willingly even initiated incest with their father??
This gives me the creep.

Another example is when Paul visited Rome!
Rome 1:25 And all this because they traded the true God for a fake god, and worshiped the god they made instead of the God who made them—the God we bless, the God who blesses us. Oh, yes!
26 Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn’t know how to be human either—women didn’t know how to be women, men didn’t know how to be men.
27 Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men—all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.
28 Since they didn’t bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose.

See that? Another example of people abusing sex. God forbids homosexuality and any other forms of sexual abuse.
Check Leviticus 18:10-20, 22-23. The whole thing about incest, homosexuality and even sex with animals are mentioned there. THEY ALL ARE FORBIDDEN!!!

I am a married man and hopefully be given children. I pray that I can raise them in revere of God.
And of course, I be given the wisdom from God that I can choose my living environment so conducive for revering God lest I be like Lot in choosing poorly where I raise my children.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."

And for me, pray that I can be like Job : "I made a solemn pact with myself never to undress a girl with my eyes."(Job 31:1).
